I get the same thing. My preferred export format is ogg (as seen in my

If I export as ogg, but let the aiff extension stay, I am warned about the
using aiff extension on an ogg file.
If I proceed without changing the extension to ogg, nautilus shows aiff i

Now that my bug (Bug #984874 ) has been declared the same as this one, I'll add
my comment here:
The bug occurred when running from a CD on my 8 year old Toshiba laptop, but
now that I've installed the Beta 2, nothing has crashed or played up. In fact
it beats the pants off every release since 9

I've just installed 12.04 Beta1 32bit in virtualbox (64 bit 10.04 system).
I got the error message during apt-get upgrade. I used synaptic to download the
updates (342 of them).
I then did the upgrade from the keyboard. This appears to have worked as I have
just been advised to restart firefox.
After a reboot, I managed to uninstall with apt-get purge followed by an
autoremove to remove the dependencies. There may well be problems with
nanny, which is why I don't think I'll try again, but the synaptic
problem that triggered this bug report seems to have been resolved
satisfactorily.

Hi Chris,
I've found something else that produces a similar effect - it's a powerpoint
and it's quite small. It doesn't produce the never-ending loop, but it does
crash openoffice.

Hi Chris,
the file that caused the problem was an address book exported from Outlook
Express. I don't want to send a file with personal information in it, so when I
get a chance, perhaps on Sunday, I'll try to produce a file that exhibits the
problem.
