Here is the 64bit kernel and headers that I have compiled for myself, as
.deb packages. The ramdisk image is also in there. It was made on a Sony
vpccw21fx laptop.

I meant the generic kernels that Ubuntu provides (2.6.31-32) are the
issue. I did not try to download and compile a kernel provided by
Ubuntu. Instead I downloaded the 2.6.33.3 Stable kernel from
http://kernel.org/ . I used the same .config file from the previous
kernel but turned on some logging f
Okay, so I think I have found the issue. It has nothing to do with the
ath9k drivers, it appear to have everything to do with the stock kernel
that came with my Linux distro. How that works, I don't know. After
finals today I had some time to kill so I downloaded and compiled the
2.6.33 kernel. Aft

Running the 2.6.32 kernel I was experience the same issues. I have also
compiled and installed the latest ath9k driver from linuxwireless.org,
