I meant the generic kernels that Ubuntu provides (2.6.31-32) are the issue. I did not try to download and compile a kernel provided by Ubuntu. Instead I downloaded the 2.6.33.3 Stable kernel from http://kernel.org/ . I used the same .config file from the previous kernel but turned on some logging features for the ath9k driver. I imagine the 2.6.34 RC would do just as well. It's day 2 and the issue still hasn't shown up. Several speed tests show consistent tests. Today I've been playing around streaming music from other machines to this one, and from this one to my PS3. Ping tests have shown 0 packets lost out of hundreds sent. Try downloading and compiling the 2.6.33 kernel and see how it goes for you Franck. I am quite pleased with my new machine now.
