Hi!
I got this after an upgrade from the 2.6.24-18-generic to
2.6.24-19-generic kernel i Kubuntu 8.04 amd64.
I tried:
mv ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/xine-config ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/xine-config-old
sudo apt-get install libxine-dev libxine1-dbg libxine1-misc-plugins
mv .xine .xine-2.8.2008
mv ~/.
Yes, a package upgrade that removes all the wrongly placed guidance.mo
would be fine :-)

KDEs svn for norwegian should be ok, so consider it fixed for that part,
yes. A launchpad fix would be appreciated :-)

The reason why I mentioned the norwegian bug, is that the bug report
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/155052
where I initially started writing about this, was marked as a duplicate of this
bug.
So I then assume that norwegian *is* relevant and a part of this bug too :-)
I am now closing
I, and Karl Ove Hufthammer are responsible for the norwegian po-files,
and we did nothing with this, because the file was never in our svn at
all because no one ever started translating it. If this was fixed, then
from someone else :-)

This file (guidance.po) is not even present in the norwegian svn, that is not
translated at all.

So this has to be faulty packaging at some stage.

Are you sure this problem is in KDE itself? Up to now I have just heard of
Kubuntu users with this problem.
The problem is reported in KDE also, at least for Norwegian:

This is also reported as a KDE bug, but I think the problem really lies in the
Kubuntu package. The same fault is also reported for Latvian on the KDE mailing
list.

The solution is really easy:
Remove the package /usr/share/locale-langpack/nb/LC_MESSAGE

I do not know why this did not work at first just by choosing the same
configuration with "System Settings -- Network settings" (which gives the same

I am using Kubuntu 7.04 amd64 and I have the same problem with my wireless

I can get an Internet connection by running dhclient ra0, but after restart I
am without net again.
I have recently done a fresh install and on the old installation (also Kubuntu
