Currently I just fixed my xps 9310's wifi card by installing kernel 5.10.
My xps system firmware version was 1.1.4 and I update to 1.2.5.
If it does not update bios, system get stuck after turning wifi on and off.

Infact, I wouldn't call it a bug, but GNS3 0.8.7 (available in Ubuntu
Repositories) is quite out dated.
The new versions have far more features and stability.
Kindly make the package for GNS3 version 1.3.2 available at

I had the exact same problem with my new ux32vd born with windows 8. After
trying most of what has been suggested and failing with the black screen during
boot, I found that Disable the Secure Boot Control in the bios did the trick
for me, and it boots 13.04 fine
- haven't tried saucy though.

Just did what you suggested. Removed the ~/.Skype directory.

xpdf is a very old X application, I did not use it since gpdf was
replaced by evince.
I just remember it does not use pango, and has it's own cMap.
So any change in fontconfig and poller-data will never affect it.

If you install poppler-data, evince will use the charmaps in it, the buggy
locales will be jumped.

distribute over CJK unified ideographs and CJK unified ideographs
extension A.
But there are 27552 Chinese characters in CJK unified ideographs and
extension A, more than 2000 Chinese characters without pinyin were
losted.

I'm not sure, this bugs has any relationship with charmaps, maybe or may not.

The default value of auto_detected is [UTF-8,CURRENT,ISO-8859-15,UTF-16], no
matter which language were used.
I think something is wrong in ubuntu, but I don't know who sould be involved.

I just want to contribute to Qin-ubuntu project(a Chinese locale edition
of ubuntu), but I do not know who is the right person should notice this
problem, Martin Pitti or somebody else?
And of cause, this bug should influence on any other local editions of
ubuntu, I hope the guy there
So I guess, if the LANG environment were set to zh_CN, you can create a
release CD with the right settings of gedit.

Yes, you are right, if the user know the encoding of the file, they can open it
with gedit.
But not all of them know what's the encoding, so automatic detect mode is the
most user case.
Gedit has a auto detect sequence recorded in gconf, the correct value is
[CURRENT,GB18030,GBK,GB23
Gedit indeed can display all gb18030 encoded files, it support gb18030 encoding
very well.
But gedit in ubuntu can not do this -:(
