Thanks for all the testing and the feedback. I think since you already
have tested Intrepid and the 2.6.27 kernel and verified it resolves your
issue, I don't think it's really necessary for you to need to test using
a LiveCD as well unless you really feel like it. For now I'm going to
intrepid now ships 0.6.4.
I assume the patches have been integrated, but I'm not sure how to
verify that. The webinterface does not seem helpful to check this.

when it was actually a result of bad media (ie you burned a bad LiveCD).

I've got hardy, all updates installed. Gnome. Does not show up in menu
if installed via apt-get or synaptic (tried both).
Strange thing is it shows as checked in 'edit menu'.
