conf file is /etc/ftpaccess (did anyone post that yet? i've been
slacking)
man ftpaccess should fill you in, but make sure 'anonymous' appears in the
'class' line.
it's ok in mdk6.1, although there was a file missing for telnet :P , which
could be a factor for yo
itudes are. The docs at 808hi are for NT, which has a similar issue
with the modems dell puts in those laptops. You need the base address and
the com you want.
egroups.com had a group for linux on dell laptops, too...

The new lilo also has a patch to read more than 1024 cylinders, which ups
the disk limit to 2TB for Lilo.
the next stable kernel is supposedly ready, but linus is moving or
something.

There's an article on Linux.com about the xdm screen.
http://www.linux.com/tuneup/database.phtml/X11/
it's down that page somewhere.

that's the way i understand it, anyway. you can get some weird stuff in
there. I have old bash laying around, and all $? gives me is the exit
code of the export PS1... command, and it never changes.

Has anyone used CVW? Know how it performs? How people like what it does?
Tried adding features to it? Know if I should learn to program MOO?
Any info is greatly appreciated.

Hope that helps!

If your cdrom isn't too crappy, cdparanoia is a good ripper.
http://www.xiph.org/paranoia/index.html
bladeenc is a decent encoder.

Services with their own constant daemons (like httpd) aren't specified in
/etc/inetd.conf, anyway. it's mostly transient connection programs, i
think...

't used Red Hat in a while, and don't use it on my personal

get a recommendation to use a different distribution on that particular

ows partition is the one
listed HPFS/NTFS. That should be the listing in your lilo.conf file.
so you'd have a windows listing like
other=/dev/sda3
label=windows
table=/dev/sda

Make sure you change the /etc/lilo.conf file to mode 0400.

M$ changed a bunch of stuff with win2k. (not better, just different...)
If you can, try upgrading to samba 2.2, which just came out within the
last couple months.
win2k uses additional information when authenticating users to services
that nt4 didn't. you might try the samba mailing lists or s
x27;t place the link to the
presentation at the moment.
Has anyone deployed secure pop services?

It will depend on the controller. You'll probably want to call them and
ask if they can tell you for sure which card you would get with the
machine, and then look on the net.
SCSI in general is A-OK, but some adapters are more supported than others.

burning money, although they are laying people off in an attempt at

The other rumor is that there is a hardware issue. It looks like stuff
that is hosted with exodus in that group is down - themes.org, /.,
