I know some cable ISPs have a "good neighbor policy" and deny ports 137:139
across their entire network to prevent file/print sharing abuses. Mine
does.
Still doesn't mean its secure tho. I'd recommend going with ZoneLabs'
ZoneAlarm.

If you are running Linux or anything other than Win 2K this morning, feel
good about your choice. This is an email thread on the Win2K bug track

Hi Sue,
Red Hat is an easy install. They also have a hardware compatibility list: http://www.redhat.com/support/hardware/ You will need to know more about your sound card, NIC & modem.

My choice is definatly icewm.. I discovered it while looking for lightweight WMs for
my low end laptop.. It's very "windowsesq" though it can be themed diffrently.. the
default keyboard shortcuts borrow from windows and solaris (ie. alt-tab windows.. and
alt-f10 to maximize windows (solaris))..
LILO needs to write to the MBR of the first drive. Bad thing to confuse it
by swapping one drive in and out, IMO at least (I don't have first hand
experience with it, just making a guess).

Hi Keith,
If you have only one IDE connection to use, but want to have the
two OSes installed on separate drives, you could try this: get one
swappable drive rack and two trays to mount the hard drives in. Then you
can swap them as often as you need to, with a minimum of fuss.
