I agree whole heartedly with that statement Neil. I would much prefer
to carry on using My rather Laborious Nokia E5 over using an Apple
Iphone. Prodoctivity would be the main reason here and I don't know how
anyone would be able to dial numbers when connected to an banking

Interesting issues raised by Saqib. I would like to add that on my C5 the
Talks volume is very low or else I have suddenly suffered a severe hearing
loss. I have to have the volume on maximum (10) when out and then can only
hear it with all the other environmental sounds. Very disappointing.
Hi Dave,
The symptoms are not the same, but I see no harm in trying the re-insall
option. I shall give it a go.
Thanks.

I don't think I suggested that Voiceover was free on Apple products.
It is clearly included in the cost of the product but, there is equity
in that anyone buying an Apple product pays the same.
I am very aware that Apple lock you into their services and products

Yes I did state that the C5 had volume issues if you have updated the
firmware on it. I noted that last Autust/September. I'm glad to see I'm not
the only one who thought the Talks volume on this pone took a big drop in
volume. But this isn't a Talks issue, it is a firmware issue from Nokia. The

One of the question I've started asking people when they start talking about
the IPhone is I ask them how they are going to use the device. If they are
going to primary make phone calls on it, then I tell them to look at Nokia

Well in that case I am glad I got my c5 before they

nokia issue a patch or do we have to wait until they issue a

Hi, Neil! Only problem is: Can''t download it to the phone from
Nokia. Ovi and PC Suite aren't accessible to do this. Would rather
be able to download the maps I need to use. That way, if cell

Hi,
Sorry this isn't really Talks related but would anyone who has had or does
have a Nokia E72 be willing to give instructions on how to insert the SIM
card? I'm pulling on the tray but it only seems to come out half way, and
there is a strange metal pin on the right hand side which doesn't seem
Hi Hussain. As I remember it that tray has a small gap under it. The
sim slides in between the tray and the lower metal component. It's a
bit tricky to get the sim in.

Hi, Folks! Noticed that there's an update for Ovi Maps for the N86
on the Blindsea Web site. My N86 has Version
3.04. Question: Should I uninstall the older version before
installing the new one, or can I just overwrite it? Thanks in

Hi, again, Folks. Well, the latest version is 3.04 for the N86 on
the Blindsea.com site. However, if I can get an updated version, do
I have to install the older version before installing the new

Talks is working fine with N8 but with some side issue.
1. at beginning, you must at least get a sighted help for customizing the new
homescreen. as a talks user, you will encounter
problem like:
*adding or removing widgets from the homescreen.
*adding or removing shortcut bar on the homescreen.
you can just install on top of the older one.

thanks for that useful info. I really like the spec list for the N8,

On whether it's worth the bother for us to write to Nokia, I'd only say that if
we don't make our opinions known then there's no way we'll make any headway in
getting more accessibility into newer phones and applications.
