Can someone provide the correct way to tag a wikipedia link? It seems the
Wiki wants it one way and JOSM another. The wiki wants version 1) but JOSM
reports an error when coded that way. WTF?
I want to use a tag written in English that describes a certain tree
Is this correct?
1) wikipedia=en.wik

can you elaborate on this? How can you use data properly if important
information is missing (which footway belongs to which road, how are they

I've just updated the english wiki for ford

I learned that most of the text is generated by a macro,
I'd prefer to have my text above the Taginfo block.
I am not an experienced wiki editor, is that possible?

Ah, thank you, Andy. For some reason I missed that on the Wiki page. I knew
it didn't want the "http://"; stuff but never studied it past that point I
reckon.
I do include the wikidata ref when it's present. I've wanted to add a
species to wikidata but they have my VPN's IP address blocked and nob

I *think*
Hello, there.
I'm wondering how to map 2 things:
1) forest parcels: some people use a boundary relation with
boundary=forest_compartment, but this seems mainly used in Eastern Europe, so
geographically limited; others map each parcel with landuse=forest and then use
ref=* to give the parcel num

Here are the tags I include in my JOSM preset for a species of tree I want
to include in OSM.

If they are in a residential area with sidewalks, then the sidewalks and their
junctions with the roads are mappable. And t
Please use "species:wikidata=Q140957". The wikidata=* tag should be used
only when the thing you are tagging is exactly, not more or less, the thing
described in the wiki article. So for example, you can tag the tree Árbol
del Tule [1] with wikidata=Q252182 [2] and species:wikidata=Q1429751 [3]
Thanks Janko. I'm glad I posted my presets. I thought I was doing
everything right but apparently I missed another fine point. I will adjust
my tagging accordingly.

Sidewalks are parallel ways with very different access restrictions that exist
on the ground - so I'm not sure what you mean. I can easily see them and their
crosswalks and
