Anyone got any good ideas as to what this can be?

Is it safe to assume that some of the bayes files was corrupt in some way after I did
the upgrade?

Simple enough. Set up the spamd daemon on a separate server with -A and -i parameters to allow remote connections. Then on
the MTA servers, call spamc with -d spamdserver. Don't know the details on integrating
spamc with Exim, but there must be info on it somewhere.
If you need SSL, just make
fferent version since you get 4 lines on
one spamc session, while my setup only logs two lines.
