We've been running Spamassassin for about 3 months now. Up till yesterday we used v2.50 which has worked flawlessly. The server is a P400 MHz/256 MB Ram. Load has been around 0.20-0.40. we receive about 80000 mails a month.
However, after I did the upgrade to 2.55 yesterday, the mail server is having a very hard time keeping up. This is due to the fact that for some strange reason spamd is using most of the available memory and most of the swap space (even with only 3 processes of spamd). Load has been up to 12, but goes from about 2.50 to 6 on average.
I used the SRPM file to re compile to RPM files on the Redhat 7.3 system.
Here is the output of top when spamd has been running for a short while (15 min).

Anyone got any good ideas as to what this can be?
