Hi,
My question is probably not directly related to sane,
although who knows?
I've got a HP Scanjet model 6100C (product C2520A) attached
to a Adaptec 1524 scsi card. Right now I'm running the
latest RedHat 7.2:
xsane-0.82-3.1
sane-backends-devel-1.0.5-4.1
sane-backends-1.0.5-4.1
xsane-gimp-0.8

Thanks for this information. So 2.4.14 may be broken concerning the
g_NCR5380 driver.

Ok, that's your problem. If it's not found as root I have no
explanation because you say libsub is installed and sane-find-scanner
should find all USB scanners. B

Hello.
1) the RGBA support is a hack of xsane, it is against the sane standard
2) in the moment it is not supported and I am not sure if I will spend
any time to make it work again we will see.

Hello!
I have some advice on scanning books with the XSANE copy utility. I've just
bought a HP ScanJet 6300C(it's on the way), it's a pretty good scanner, and
I've been using it in windows platform, with the HP Copy Utility, print to
file... boom, you get an acceptable quality ps file.

Hi,
I am using a nikon LS 2000 diascanner. I once had a working version
of dustremoval with this scanner, consisting of the old coolscan
backend, a specific version of xsane and a GIMP-plugin.
Although the new coolscan backend supports the IR-channel, I cannot
get this combination working again.
It was the v1.0.8 backends that were causing the problem. Sorry about tha=

Thank you, I think I am getting somewhere, so far
it sits, the light comes on, and it occasionally
makes a 'stepper sound', like one step of the motor,
but nothing else it pauses here.

Hi again, Henning
The first time I had posted the message to the wrong list (Video4Linux
instead of sane-devel), but surprise I got this reply that solved the
problem elegantly:

Hi,
I got a Vidar DiagnosticPRO Plus (a SCSI Vidar Film Digitizer) and I'm
looking for info about how to make it work under "UNIX" (GNU/Linux or
{Free,Net,Open}BSD).
