Hi:
The previous message from you indicated that version 2.7.2 has been
fixed for the problem of sage recycling when notebook is entered at
login. However, when I downloaded 2.7.2 and vmware on my home machine
and tried running, I had the same problem as on my office machine.

Sorry, this didn't work. I re-downloaded the sage-2.7.2 and tried
again. After about 10 sec following 'notebook' input, SAGE recycles
back to login prompt. sage-2.7 works fine (except it doesn't have the
notebook mods 2.7.2 version has).

Gani,
Regarding your sage-2.7.2 upgrade problem, we had a network
outage at AIM (http://aimath.org) where I'm at right now,
so I wasn't able to upload a new version of SAGE.
I'm currently uploading something so that "sage -upgrade"
should fix your problem. It should be uploaded within
10 minute

this can be fixed by deleing .lck file in folders ending with .lck
within your unzipped sage-vmware folder.

I just tried to install SAGE 2.7 but am having a problem. I installed
Firefox and VMware Player then unzipped SAGE. When I click on
sage.vmx I get the following error:
"Error while opening the virtual machine. This virtual mahine appears
to be in use. Configuration file: C:\sage-vmware-2.7\s
Hi:
Sorry to say that this also didn't work. I had already downloaded
2.7.2 and upgrading it didn't work, so I reinstalled 2.7 (form zip
file on hard disk) and did an upgrade from that which took some time,
but the same problem was repeated. So, I will have to reinstall 2.7
from .zip file again t
Hi,
I just realized I could probably fix your problem (and many other people's
similar problem)
by releasing a slightly newer version of SAGE. So I'm releasing
sage-2.7.2.1 which should fix the notebook problem on vmware
transparently. Just do "sage -upgrade" once sage-2.7.2.1
appears here (pro

Don't worry this is easy to fix by setting the notebook admin
password. I'll send instructions later...

Hi:
I just did a sage -upgrade and after that I tried to start up the
server with 'notebook' at the sage login prompt. The web server starts
up and VMWare then recycles to get back to the sage login prompt. This
is highly discouraging since everything was working fine prior to
this. Help!
thanks

Dirty solution: ln -s libfreetype.6.3.8.dylib libfreetype6.dylib in
/local/lib
Kind regards,
Aro
I've tested this, and it works fine now. No locks, no mysterious
kernel messages while booting.
