p.show() and p.save() commands dont' produce any output because matplotlib ft2fon.so complains about a missing /usr/local/lib/ libfreetype6.dylib library (experienced with the pre-compiled binaries) Dirty solution: ln -s libfreetype.6.3.8.dylib libfreetype6.dylib in <sage-root>/local/lib
