Options:

(1) download and install sage-vmware-2.7.2, or

(2) do this, I hope (this is from memory -- I'm traveling):
  (a) login: manage
      password: sage
  (b) sudo su
  (c) edit (using vi or emacs or pico) the file
         /home/notebook/.bashrc
and comment out the last few lines (the comment is a hash)
  (d) type "su - notebook"
  (e) type "sage" and then type "notebook()"
  (f) enter a password when prompted
  (g) exit sage
  (h) uncomment the lines in /home/notebook/.bashrc
That should do it. It's exactly what I did when making sage-vmware-2.7.2,

or

(3) wait for > sage-vmware-2.7.2, in which I'll fix this upgrade
problem.

Sorry for screwing this up.
