As a mineralogist we have used Gandolfi cameras in the past to identify
small amounts of unknown mineral mixtures. The camera mechanism randomizes

Bruno from STOE had a 140 deg image plate detector system that is still
under development but he had the proto-type in Barcelona. I think this is
what is remembered.

We seal capillaries for High temperature work with a very fine
acetylene oxygen torch that jewelers use.
the sample isn't heated by this local flame.
