I have just been working with an Ultra 66 and an upgrade of 6.0 to 6.2 and
based on what I have been doing your ide2=. and ide3=. are wrong. I
think they should be " ide2=0x78d0, 0x78d3 ide3=0x78c4, 0x78c7. Maybe
this will help.

I added a Promise Ultra 66 (UMDA66) to my computer and got the drivers and

however, even though I have gotten some good information from them it is
not enough. I would like to find a VERY complete book on all Linux

I am using RH 6.0, I'm having a problem with my Apollo P-1250i printer.
It will print from inside Netscape but not with Gedit or emac. In these
cases it just turns on the Print Head error light. Any suggestions?

I'm trying to install PDQ into RH 6.0. I have followed the instructions
supplied and successfully unzipped the .tgz file but have not been able
to successfully install the program. Does anybody have any experience
and give my some advise. I'm not good enough with the Linux commands to

Problem fixed:
I got some help from the Gnome list and was told to delete "~/ICEauthority" and
that did it apparently it is a but in my version of Gnome.

According to Promise (for RH 6.0) the steps they outline in "INSTALL THE
DROVER INTO AN EXISTING SYSTEM" the steps are:
1) Logon as the super user.
2) Copy the setup-u66, lilofix.pl and ultra66.o files to /root.
3) Verify that the device driver loads correctly by issuing the command
"insmod ultra6

Hi again, I did study the info at Promise. The only think I can figure to do
is: remove the promise card and get things working without it. Then do the
upgrade, add the drivers and reinstall the card. You know I'm not sure the
Promise card is worth the problems and I'm thinking of just re

I downloaded: rp8_linux20_libc6_i386_cs1_rpm.html From Real Audio and
attempted to install it. I got a conflict warning with KDE
Multimedia. So, because I didn't use KDE much but rather Gnome, I
deleted KDE basic and KDE multimedia. Well, I never did get Real Player
8 to work with Netscape.

I tried to install WP8 into RH7 but it failed to create many of the
needed directories. I reviewed the directions and did it 2 times with
files from different sources (Web & CD). Will WP8 work in RH7? If yes,

because the RH7 libc is the wrong version for WP8 that didn't work. I had the
