Does anyone know where I can get XFree86 4.0.1 rpms? Rpmfind doesn't have

Cheers

How small? I'm trying to create a RedHat - type linux distribution, ideally
in 32meg. It's not embedded, it's more like a zipslack type of thing.

Whenever you install a distribution it comes with a generic kernel

Redhat determines what the kernel gets compiled with? What makes a

I'm trying to build a kernel for a customized redhat

Hi,
I'm trying to develop a RH compatible distribution. I've copied the files
from rpm-3.0.4.i386.rpm - but it doesn't want to work. Does anyone know what
the MINIMUM requirements are for a precompiled dynamic rpm 3 command to
work?

Hi,
I'm going to have to set up a machine to monitor bandwidth use and ethernet

But if you depend on certain Redhat patches (eg. RAID) then just using the

This is true, but if you use the rpms and need that the same applies. Either

I would strongly suggest that you get the source and compile it yourself.
It's not as scary as you think. Linuxdoc (www.linuxdoc.org) has a kernel
howto. RPM's are generally pre-compiled with patches and stuff that can make
it a bit ugly. Example: Mandrake kernel RPM's are fine if you have a
