SolArk tech support told us that the PV array ground shouldn’t land on the
inverter ground bar. But instead should be run to its own local electrode.
or if you're grid tied it can land on the ground bar at the Main AC

Once again I'm going to bang the drum for flooded, lead calcium batteries
as THE chemistry for grid tied with battery backup systems.
You can do your own research but they have exceptionally low self discharge
rates, rarely need watering and should last around 30 years. The only
negative is th
Can someone/s offer up any solid electrical engineering reason for that? Makes no sense to me. JayOn Nov 10, 2024, at 9:12 AM, david quattro via RE-wrenches wrote:SolArk tech support told us that the PV array ground shouldn’t land on the inverter ground bar. But instead should be run to its own
There isn't. It's a cultural thing. All of our Japanese machines have
completely different grounding schemes that they want because that is
standard in Japan. That's my two cents

Thanks Logan, Tyrone and Maverick,
Yes I've tried all the things noted so far without any success. Since there
is no PV nor controller at the moment I can't test with just a controller
alone but after testing with the Rosie I'm quite certain the battery is
just fine. Also to be clear, the Mate3s n
Same with the Midnite AIO. They are very explicit in the instruction
manual.

How many kWh of battery do you have. Jay On Nov 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM, Nick Lucchese via RE-wrenches wrote:Thanks Logan, Tyrone and Maverick,Yes I've tried all the things noted so far without any success. Since there is no PV nor controller at the moment I can't test with just a controller alone
Aloha All,

Solar PV+/PV- are UNGROUNDED. Note, you may ground PV Racking/Mounts, but
doing so directly to the MIDNITE will likely result in damage in the case
of a direct lightning strike to the PV array. Ground the PV racking
directly to earth ground.

Hi Ray,
Off grid solar has been pushed way back. Back in the day, I would set up
systems and walk away (until the client destroyed their first set of
batteries). After that, the systems would run smoothly. The equipment
did not need to be updated or replaced.
Now, battery based systems are
This is very valuable information. The homeowner sourced these four
inverters from someone else before I got involved. Three of the four
inverters have a Savant sticker on the front of them. The one without the
Savant sticker is NOT the one that is having the problem, but it is
adjacent to it. The
Good afternoon Jay,
16 KWH's when full, appears that my first two shipped at 34-50% SOC.
Enjoy your evening, Nick
