The Ram rode the same for me at any weight. Not as good on hills as Roadeo,
but good enough and a fantastic, comfy ride.
It also has a little more room for fenders and 32mm tires than Roadeo.
I love the blue paint, too. If I ever have to repaint the Roadeo I thin
They have a list of Rivdealers on their website. You could call around and
see if anyone has a proper brake bridged Roadini.
But I would wait, too. Worth it.
If you get the Soma, you might one day think that you should have got the
Roadini instead.

The Ram and Rodeo have the same exact cassette model and toothcounts.
Ram has 40T XD2big ring.
Roadeo 43 XD2 big ring.
I only use big rings on both. No front derailers on the bikes.
I am consistantly in higher cassette gears on Roadeo on same routes, even
though it has a bigger T count big ring.

The Berthoud GB25 is a fantastic bag if you are not concerned about weight.
Empty, and without stiffner, it is 600+ grams.
You would also need a front rack to support it.
But it has so much function, it is worth it if you are a string rider and

I agree. I think modding a non disc bike would just cause comprimises on both
the frame and the disc performance. Besides, rim brakes work perfectly fine and
easier to fix in the field I would think. I think discs are nice and modern but
definitely not necessary. Maybe if you descend in the rain

Clearance fine on my Ram but tight with 32s so I am getting Cerf 28s for more
clearance.
Also, I would suggest using Sheldon fender nut with VO fender L bracket, not a
daruma. Daruma will not work with sidepulls ime. Calipers dangle too low.

Plus, the height of the bb would probably drop alot.
I noticed when I switched from 42 Hetres to 32 650b Cypres, the bike looked
like it shrunk. But I liked it!!

Was wondering if you were going to have anything coming up soon.
Reassuring for me to see distance riding at over 50 ages as I am 50 now and
worry how many more years my body will allow me to ride.
I’m gonna be sidelined for a little by hernia surgery in a few week
It is amazing how California looks so different than the eastern states. Like
in another country.
There are drones that you can have follow you on the bike.
Not sure the batteries would last those long rides though.

Sheldon fender nuts and front fender goes on/off in less than two minutes.
Same for rear fender, EXCEPT for the chainstay bridge bolt attachment.
Maybe zip tire the fender at that point and just take 20 seconds to cut
ties when you want to remove?
