I parked my Quickbeam in a steel bike locker at Ashby BART for several
years. I never worried about anyone stealing my bike - principally
because there were so many other bikes nearby in racks that were much
easier targets (cheap lock, etc.). Now that I think about it, the

Love 'em. Kojaks are my new favorite tires, along with Rivendell Jack

crummy pavement and potholes... so the comfort and handling of good

That does indeed look like a build done right.
Two questions:
1. How do you like the Kojaks? Have you enough miles on them to give
a comparison to other (similarly sized) tires you've used?
2. Have you considered pulling the rack closer to the headtube?

Kojaks are wonderful. I have a couple thousand miles on them, on
various bikes including a Vanilla and a Roadeo. I am fairly
enthralled by them.

Even though this thread is old, I find myself thinking about this question,
i.e., Would You? when I am out riding.
Thus, I took some pics recently:

I am working over the new 66cm Quickbeam, and saw the cranks were flopping,
which turned out to be from a loose BB. It's a sealed cartridge Shimano
unit, had been installed by Riv. I guess the rings came loose, and the
previous owner hadn't noticed.
BUT... the left side ring is plastic, is that no

I'm looking for a 1" Tektro cable hanger, specifically a "deep-drop"
version (and in silver). Velo Orange carries them, but they're out of
stock. Link:

A quick comment to say the 66cm Quickbeam arrived, and I've been tending to
its bits and quirks. New tires (Jack Browns), new wheels (Dyad Velocity,
built by Rich Lesnick), and my pedals and seat, plus a 16t cog on the
rear... and I took it for a spin today, mt first time on a fixed-gear bike.
