Since you're using p- clamps, you could just loosen the p-clamps and the acorn nuts, push the rack to the rear tolerance of the adjustment slot, then secure the p-clamps and acorns again. Trimming the struts is still an option if you don't want the clamps lower on the fork. Not good with aesthetics?
