Reminds me of the time we took a camp stove and hot chocolate to the

You're a brave man, posting this when a huge portion of the US is
under snow and serious sub-freezing temps. On the other hand, this is
a good promo for cycling in Chiang Mai.

Renaissance Bicycles is the latest victim of the Great Recession. On

Oh that IS a shame... Bryan creates such beautiful bikes, and I have

Howdy folks.
I have a monstercross-ish bike that came with Open Pro rims and XT hubs.
While I know plenty of fat tires have been mounted and ridden on narrow
rims, I would really prefer something wider (CR18, Delgado cross, Dyad,
Synergy, something along those lines). I am pretty sure my wheels a

Double-TT-Sam: 40mm (42-622) Marathon Extremes
Single-TT-Sam: IRC Mythos XC Pro Slick
The bikes are set up differently enough that we can't say which tire
we prefer (We haven't tried swapping wheels). Both seem to do quite
well on dirt.

Sad to see them go. The photo archive should be preserved for
posterity for sure, if Ren is ever not able to keep it up.
This also brings up another interesting thing- Ren may be a "LBS" for
some, but they are an Internet vendor to me, being several thousand

At least they're going out on their terms and it sounds like a

Cycling in Chiang Mai is indeed excellent. Great secondary road
network with little traffic (and the occasional elephant crossing
warning sign), beautiful countryside with small farms and rainforest,
extensive still partly unpaved tertiary road network, and great single
track on the 5500 foot mount
Hi Doug,
if you don't find any takers, just buy some Synergies, tape them to
your Open Pros with the spoke holes aligned, and then move the spokes
over one by one. The ERDs are only a mm apart and this works
flawlessly. Did it myself last year, no problems.
