I've a 60-61 head. Wore a Lazer Genesis in XL for several years. Retired
due to age (six years). Using a Savant in L now that is very comfortable.
Also fit a POC very comfortably, but I wasn't comfortable with the price.
Liking that new Lazer Z1 with temple protection. Seeing some colors on
I am another for whom the XL Giro Savant (mine's the MIPS version) has
worked out well--maybe the best fitting helmet I've had. Plenty of
adjustability for bare head, thin cycling cap, or my thick wool Walz winter

I am a 7 3/4 melon head. I have used Bell helmets for several years, the
latest a Bell Sequence for about 5 years. They are affordable (got mine on
sale for about $25 or so), not too Star Wars, and Bell has great customer
service (ex: my pads worn out on my old one and Bell sent me replacemen
I'm 7-3/4 also, but long and skinny. Bell Sweep and Giro Savant both are "ok",
not great. Everything else I've ever tried is crap. If it's long enough, it's
too wide. If it's narrow enough, it's too small front to back. Shoes and
helmets are two things I would never buy online because of weird
Shape is also important, especially when you have a fat head. I have
endured poor fitting helmets for years. I live in Florida, but have spent
most of the last two years in the Seattle area for work. No luck finding
one in Seattle either, so I drove down to Portland. First I went to
Universal c
Big Noggin Club member here too. I've used Giro mostly. Like the looks
and it fits. Bishop, Hex & Savant. I also have a Nutcase for cold winter
rides. The Berns have more venting, but no local shops carry the larger
sizing, so I went w/ Nutcase.
