I am another for whom the XL Giro Savant (mine's the MIPS version) has worked out well--maybe the best fitting helmet I've had. Plenty of adjustability for bare head, thin cycling cap, or my thick wool Walz winter cap, plus some hair volume if I haven't been to the barber in a while (speaking of which...). The Savant is on the Star Wars side of things but Giro makes a wide variety of helmets, many with more subtle styling, so that might be a good place to start.
