I must clean out the absurd amount of stuff I've amassed over the years,
namely two Atlantises. I'd prefer to sell locally, in the SF Bay Area.

I've been pretty happy with my Continental Sport Contacts 26x1.6.
They ride nicely and have decent puncture protection. Plus you can get
them with a reflective sidewall which is nice.

Can anyone recommend some trail loops they like in the Berkeley
Hills / Tilden Park area? Swoopy fire roads, nothing technical but
still fun.
I just moved to the area (Rockridge) and I'm looking for some short

It comes down to your aesthetic sense. If you are not that much into
the details of how things look, then it doesn't matter because quality-
wise they are identical.
But if you do care about the details, then I think you'd have to look
at the specific bike to determine what you like more.

Ha! Thanks for all the info guys.
I think I'll go with Sheldon's method for low security stops, and
Lee's lock up method for longer/sketchier stops. The bike-link card
for BART parking sounds interesting.
That's a good point Lee made about Sheldon's method being susceptible

Hi All. I just moved to Oakland (Rockridge) from Houston and I'm
curious what peoples opinions are parking your Rivs here are.
In Houston, I felt fairly comfortable with locking up my Atlantis with
bags/lights/brooks onboard with just a cable lock during the day. No

Btw, the cockpit is the same for both - 48cm noodle, interrupter

Ha, I meant the "tale" to be illustrated in the photo by how different

As a belt. As a clothes pin.
I'm on week 1 of an international trip where I packed some camping
gear including John's Irish straps (2 short, 1 long).
My wife forgot a belt, so guess what one strap is being used for?
Looks good too.
I've also used them to tie down some clothes while it dries on t

Ah ha! Somehow I missed that page and had only seen the RR hard copy

Time for an order...

Hello. Does anyone have a Rivendell Reader CD, issues# 12 - 25 that
they are done with? I have the discs for 1-11, and 26-35, but am
missing 12 -25 in pdf format.
I also have most of these in original paper format, so we could also
work out a trade.
I've recently switched to an e-reader, so befo
Anyone else have the riv look spreading to their non-riv bikes? Its
hard to just leave these nice extra riv parts sitting around the
garage.

I tried it without a drill. Just screwed them in gently and straight
(enough), and once they took hold, then I applied stronger pressure on
the socket wrench.

but I havent used them enough to say how the handle wet weather. My
guess would be they are o
I've also used both extensively on my bikes ( 2 sets of each!) and

weather both the GK's and MKS touring pedals performed rather poorly,
but with just 4 studs per side on the GK's they turn in to great wet
weather pedals. The st

Who knows - we could see Japanese-built Atlantises again if the Dollar
to Yen trend ever changes. Unlikely, but not a big deal for the
Atlantis really since the Waterfords will be great too. Maybe a big
deal for Japanese builders though...

I decided to try out the new 2.25 Schwalbe Marathon Extremes on my 56

They roll faster than I expected on the road and quite nimble off-
road, but that may be the adrenaline shot of a new bike talking.
Big fun, nonetheless.

Even with puny 35mm Schwalbe Supremes and SKS 45mm fenders, I can get
toe strike on my 58cm Atlantis if I try hard enough on start-up. This
is because sometimes my (size 12) foot placement on Grip Kings is
accidentally too far forward initially on start-up.
But its not a major issue for me. Like
