I have recently got a new bike and immediately noticed the toe overlap (XL
Crust norEaster with 29x2.1+Fenders) – while I am already learning how to
work with it (carry momentum in wiggly parts so I can turn hard while feet
are in the 6 and 12 o'clock position) i double checked that a different

We did not run a GPS track on the route, but my friend did map the route
out on ridewithgps and we followed that pretty closely the whole way. On
the last day, instead of McCall Rd we took Revere Rd into Lamont. I am not
sure how we would have actually got on McCall Rd. It looked doable on

Still curious about a torque recommendation. Clearly mine is not tight enough.Sent from my iPhoneOn Sep 8, 2024, at 5:54 PM, Jay wrote:Forgot to mention, if I would have done what Bill mentions above, I likely would have never had the original issue. On Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 5:52:57 PM UTC-

I can't recall if I had started a thread or contributed to one when I had
stripped the binder bolt on my Roadini, but as I recall, I went to a local
nut/bolt store with the stripped one in hand. I bought 4 new bolts with
nuts (one set is in my seat bag ;-). The original nut has some plastic or
Man, you all jinxed me. I’ve not experienced post slippage on either of my two Riv’s. Or so I thought. All the talk of greasing binder bolts caused me to double check. On my Clem the post had actually slipped incrementally over time. It was about 2cm low. The bolt was greased but I made sure it was
Thanks for the information Kyle! Did you run a GPS track of your route by

Hey John,
Yeah we took the Palouse-Cascades trail for the most part! We headed north
to Spokane around Revere, WA and eventually linked up with the Columbia
Plateau Trail. The trail was awesome, but could get gnarly for long
stretches with the track ballast. A few times we took the neighboring roa

One potential problem with long chainstays is trying to fit the bike in
spaces designed around standard bike dimensions. For example, when our
house was built, I got the builder to install a rack along the side of the
garage so that that our bikes could be hung from their front or rear
wheels,
Hey Kyle,
That looks like a fine ride. What route did you take? The Palouse-Cascades
trail?
