That is a fine bicycle, Ben. Yes it does have a higher bottom bracket than
other Rivs, plus can run bigger tires. It should be awesome in that area

Apologies if I missed it, but what is your asking price for the Saluki?
Half-retail - $1100?

It is so delightful to read how this accidental bike turned out to be the

On my share of my 2 Rivs.. I will likely swap the mustache and drop bars to
have a Saluki with drop bars and the Atlantis with the mustache bars this
fall. The Atlantis definitely has the feel of a XO-1 that I sold years back

I’ve always wanted a canti Saluki and also own a 58cm toyo Atlantis.

Ethan,
By saying you prefer the older model Atlantis with shorter stays, but using
the newer model for sizing, you are talking two different bikes in terms of
fit. I'm 6'1" and have a 90cm PBH the last time I used that method of
fitting. In the old Toyo model sizing I fit a 64cm just fine, in t

To further inflate and extend this thread, here is a french bread recipe
from Julia Child. Very simple, but I can never get the crisp crust and soft
but "pull-able" inside, tho' even my results taste good and cut well. But I
don't make it much because of course it requires beaucoup de kneading.

Hi Michael,
I tend to agree with Nick and Peter.
I previously bought brand new polished Son hub and Cliffhanger rim which
after 1 year of use have tarnished which regular cleaning would not make
any difference.
So all my succeeding purchases where silver anodized which held up better

Hello! I am trying to find a cable hanger that will clamp on to a 22.2
nitto quill stem. I recently purchased a sam through the group (photos will
come when the build is complete!) but it seems the steer tube may have been
cut down at some point and won't fit a usual cable hanger in the headset.
In fact, anodized will look a whole lot better a few years down the road if
you ride year 'round on roads that get salted in the winter. I tend to ride
my fat tire bike in winter which has a B&M IQ-X headlight. The Riv has an

Howdy,
I’m on the lookout for a *~59cm Atlantis *(preferably older model w/
shorter chainstays, but open to the newer/longer frame)! I love everything
about the bike, and looks like it can do-it all (at least all that I want
to do).
I tried a 62cm the other day—it was a wonderful ride a
Same! When did they stop making them with double top tubes? Do you know if
future Atlantis frames will have a double top tube? They look quite nice and

The OP just asked which I prefer. I prefer non-polished silver over
polished on my Rivendell builds. I have some polished parts, like Rene
Herse cranks, on other builds that I consider more dainty and fashionable.
My Riv builds are not so hoity-toity.

Personally I like the polished components from Paul and WI and the satiny
finish on Nitto and I opted for the silver(polished) Paul racers and WI
hubs on my 2016 mixte(metallic burgundy). My personal opinion is that
silver doesn't detract from the elegance of a Riv frame which is the star
