have sidepulls...thats why the recess. It is easy to fill in with
right-sized washers or spacers, and it ought to be easy to mount a

probably go with the saddlesack over the panniers because of the trunk-like
storage vs. the split storage of panniers. I have some time to decide for

The rear facing hole in the fork crown on my Bombadil is recessed a
bit like a brake mount, but its smaller.
When I put a Nitto Mini-Front rack on my SimpleOne I used the recessed
allen bolt from a side pull break.
That doesn't work with the Bombadil. But the the back face of the

Your explanation is very logical, at least for motorcycles where the machine
itself is quite heavy. I'm just wondering if for a light bicycle, where the
rider weight is so much higher, placing the load closer to the wheels
actually achieves the same purpose. I'll have to try it next time, but
I got my order, but no 5% discount. I believe I put "lugs", not "lug", in
the box, so maybe that screwed it up. Oh well.

I'm curious about the shorter shoes that come with the new 720's.
Does anyone know if they clear the fork arms/seat stays ?
