I have one of the old Zefals on one of my bikes that has one of the
little "spike" braze-ons for frame pumps. It fits properly, but I am
sure I could rattle the thing off the bike without the little velcro
keeper I use with it. Just a thought that a buck's worth of velcro
might keep you from scar
I really like my Lezyne Road Drive pumps. These are mini-pumps with
the old-school hose connection. I like them because they can pump up
to 100 psi easily but they're also quick enough for my 700x30 tires.

As far as wheels are concerned, for the Roadeo, I've been using plain
old Mavic Aksiums with Jack Browns and Schwalbe Kojaks, which are
roughly equivalent tires in width, performance, and comfort. They
perform nicely.

What everyone "needs" is just two bikes -- an A. Homer Hilsen for
everything fast and an Atlantis for everything gnarly. You've already
got a Sam, which is like the A. Homer. So, just sell everything and
buy an Atlantis and you'll be good to go. Everything else goes in the
"want" column!!

cycle project (but built with quite a few Rivendell-sourced parts). I
call it a "Town Bike"--it's a cheap-and-cheerful, no-name aluminum
touring frame with Surly forks, with nice parts and really nice wheels
and tires.

Yes, mounting a bobike mini requires fairly upright handlebars, a la
Euro city bike. But I believe the payoff is worth it: Sharing the joys
of biking with your kid by being able to ineract easily, giving them a
great view and the sense of actually cycling, rather than being

Yes, the lugs appear to be from the Glorius, the fork is presumably
from the Bomba. But if you want to turn this into a production model,
a Bomba without a toptube seems to be the obvious way to go. Certainly
would be very easy to implement.
