I thought I would share some snappies of an ongoing non-Rivendell
cycle project (but built with quite a few Rivendell-sourced parts). I
call it a "Town Bike"--it's a cheap-and-cheerful, no-name aluminum
touring frame with Surly forks, with nice parts and really nice wheels
and tires.

The photos will remind me of what the bike looked like before I do
what I'm going to do to it, i.e., expose it to North Yorkshire roads
most days for the rest of its life. Its color is just about to go from
glorious green to a gorgeous, gritty gray with stunning white, salty
accents.

The interesting bits, to me, are the green saddle, 40-spoke Phil hubs,
and the Terracycle (terracycle.com) light mount--I will be installing
more of those soon. I will be zipping baskets to both racks, and the
Terracycle mounts solve the problem of my basket load obscuring my
lights.
