Velo Orange has a nice $48 seatpost that they specifically made for Brooks setback. I agree with your assessment of the Tektro's being kinda wimpy, esp in the rear. I was going to experiment with a different pad on my orange 56cm Sam. Otherwise, I have a set of Paul's I might put on it instead.
