I'm 5'11" with an 87.5" PBH. I've got a 59 AHH and maybe could have gone one bigger (Jay recommended a 61 first, and 59 second). I have about an inch or two depending on shoes and tires. I don't care about standover on the roadish bikes (at least haven't had a reason to yet). I like riding a larger frame - it's more comfortable to me, and there's some sort of a psychology to it that works for me. For reference, most of the guys I work with that are similar height are on 54-56cm road bikes, and think I'm a bit mad.
p.s. The top tube makes a good leg rest at stop lights...
