Hmmm, I'm not sure what to think. Funny how so many custom builders
are trying to make bikes like the ones Rivendell has been producing
for years. I was at the Oregon Handmade Bicycle Show this past weekend

My Bruce Gordon Rock 'n Road is the first frame I have owned with a

What got me was how small frame looked when I unpacked it. As I built
it, the frame appeared to be expanding before my eyes. The Bruce

Lots of thoughtful discussion below to which I'll only ad this. My
motivations for buying the titanium cogset (and for the next one I'll

also wanted an 11t.

Don't you need to start with a complete cassette, so that when the

Individual cogs in the ones I wear out are about $20 each. I have no
intention of buying a complete cassette. Ti is a more expensive
material and more difficult to machine than steel, and the volume this
vendor is producing is a fraction of Shiimano, so I can see $20 for a
cog. My expectation
A horizontal TT has long been part of the standard design. An
upsloping TT allows the headtube to be higher relative to the saddle,

I agree with patrick. An Austin based frame-maker using a Texas-

I find this odd, too. The seller starts out by saying don't assume a
bike fits you even if it is the same manufacturer. While honest and
correct, who'd buy it other than folks who have sat on an Atlantis.
Interesting.
A real beauty, too, that Atlantis.

I agree the color makes it look Atlantis like, but then again,
Celeste/sea-foam whatever it is didn't exactly start with Rivendell.

I find it hard to believe that someone would drop 3500.00 and not
measure his pbh and read the Riv sites frame sizing guide. The price
you pay for assuming. I feel bad for the ol lad. It will be a good
deal for someone.

The Shimano XTR 970 9 speed cassette (224 g) is $270 for another example.
IIRC, only the largest 4 cogs are Ti, where with Action Tec, all are Ti, and

Both are pricey, but if your budget allows, Action Tec has some nice goodies.

A while back I used the 35s on a bike with 28mm Michelin Hi-Lite Cross
tires, and it worked just fine. Can't imagine Paselas not working if I
had used them. Two factors come into play however; width obviously,
but also the distance of the various bridges from the tire. On my
