ime. IMHO
that's provisioning.
I've done some work with disk / volume management with Puppet (with
LVM on Linux) in the past and this was to work around severe
limitations in the provisioning system we had. I'd never recommended
doing this again, it was the wrong tool for the job.

nd answer some questions,
however, I've not tried in your circumstances. Use of pkg-get is now
deprecated by Blastwave and unpopular (but still supported) with
OpenCSW.
You could argue none of this is a problem with puppet per se, however,
I think puppet needs to move it's Solaris Blastwave
ve repository. There's at least one other replacement for the
blastwave provider kicking around I've seen, again, utilising pkgutil.

Remember, a fair few places in the UK are still-running-IE-6 shops.
My firm would be happy for a six month release/patch cycle, but we're
not change averse. Others firms I've worked for are.

There are Solaris packages for puppet available here:

and facter
which I think

May not be able to make it myself though... :(

I'll update with what you say. I've no Xen box to test on, but 'virtual'

Basically, the stop argument doesn't seem to work, and AFAIK nothing gets
written to /var/run/puppet. Start works OK. Debian version is Lenny. I'm not
a total Debian newbie, but frankly it's not really my comfort zone either,
so I might

I've not seen a 'for' loop in puppet, but then again I've never looked

If you want international attendees I'd suggest one of the major
tourist/business cities like SFO, JFK, or a hub for an international
airline, like DFW (for American Airlines). Direct flights are a fair bit
cheaper and a whole heap more convenient.
