Also, when you select drive d in your bios, W2K will still map your drive
partitions properly. i.e. BIOS drive D = C in W2K.

Thanks, now at boot they show the correct hostname, but the ip address
still doesn't agree with what is set in the hosts file on the dhcp
server. I restarted the network so it should have picked up the correct
ip shouldn't it?

I've used maxtor disks for a long time with no problems at all... What happens

I also have the same problem with an Intel MB. It sometimes requires
several reboots before it gets past the apm line in the boot process. I
have turned off apm on the motherboard but that only helps a little.

Make sure you have the latest firmware on your Linksys

You've got other problems if the above did not work . Possibly path related.
A good debugging tool I use is to set -x on your init script and watch what
happens. i.e. Change the first line of /etc/init.d/vncserver from:

to:
#!/bin/bash -x
Now start vncserver manually by typing:
# cd /etc/init.d
# ./vncserver start
reams of output should point you in the right direction.

I saw something similar when I installed.
Check out the contents of /etc/ntp/step-tickers. It should say
time.nist.gov.
Other than that check out the contents of /etc/ntp.conf and make sure that
the server line says server time.nist.gov.

I've noticed kpackage is missing from KDE in Redhat 8.0.
Kpackage has more functionality than the new Redhat package manager and
thus I would like to update KDE to include this package.

I am having a hard time getting the iso's. I am using the priority ftp
of redhat. I need a program that supports resume. Is there a way to use
the priority server and gftp or ncftp?

Has everybody forgotten what happened with Red Hat 7.3? The stores
placed boxed sets on the shelves before the mirrors were opened up.

I have installed RH 8.0 into my Thinkpad (233 MHz, 64MB ram) and it
works fine. I even got sound to work after downloading the sndconfig
utility. There were no hiccups in the installation.

I've installed these packages from a US mirror. Alas, I forgot that the
Limbo beta KDE did not have Kpackage either.

I want to upgrade my RH 7.3 box to 8.0. I have Ximian installed. The
Psyche release notes say to uninstall ximian before upgrading. How do I
do that? There are many rpms.

When I try to print messages with Evolution only the header prints. It
doesn't even show up in the print preview. I can see the messages fine,
just can't print them.
