supported in RH 9, as the release-notes for the latest beta said wine is
removed due to developer constraints. If the latest beta became RH 9,
then that would mean it will not be there either, so also not supported

No. The problem is that the current versions of wine and some other
apps will not work with the new thread system that is in glibc 2.3
Until the wine developers come up with
