The very first line of +- 50% of my messages has the first line stripped
off (deleted).
I use postfix 2.0 and do not use procmail (BTW, there is no difference
with or without procmail.

Not sure what your problems are but did you check if you have the right
packages installed? I chose Japanese as the default Language and have
no problems logging in and having an all Japanese environment though I
hardly ever use it. About open office though, you need to choose the
right Japanese

TrueType fonts, though I'm not even sure how to figure out what fonts it
thinks it's using.

because the mail server doesnt support or has that command disabled

mails from a maildir directory. You can point evo in the default kmail

mode (after issuing the killev cmd) to see if yours also fails when the

I have my Palm (actually, one of the new Kyocera 7135 Palm phones) all
set and working with pilot-link via the serial port. Evolution's Palm
config thing can talk to my Palm.
However, my contacts don't show up in Evolution. In fact, in

Here's how I updated to evo 1.2.1-4 on a stock RH 8.0:
Grabbed the srpms for gtkhtml, libcapplet0, gal, and soup from rawhide.
Built them and upgraded with the fresh rpms (installing the *-devel
packages as well).
Grabbed the srpm for evolution-1.2.1-4, also from rawhide.
For some reason
I had updated my evolution to evolution-1.2.1-2 (from rawhide) some
times ago. Now I would like to update to evolution-1.2.1-4 (or reinstall
1.2.1-2, but it's no longer in rawhide), because there are some problems
with my installation. The new version requires newer version of several

I think the only way is with the unsupported Evolution 1.2. You can
either install it from Rawhide or from Ximian. Ximian may break future
upgrades to Red Hat but you can purchase support from Ximian. Rawhide

up and it has to be killed with 'killev'.

Well, I figured out why no data was moving from Evolution to my PDA - I
apparently needed the 'evolution-pilot' package. Unfortunately, now I'm
back to nothing working again.
I give up for now. It's taking too much of my time to figure out this
stuff, and it's not

You might try checking the evolution FAQ/knowledge base at ximian.com. I
think this was a problem with some earlier versions, so there might be a
fix there.
