That's another thing that RH screwed with in 8.0. They have written a scrpt which triggers their default browser, and they point every RH version of every thing at that script. I nuked KDE 3.0.3 by RH and installed 3.0.4 from source then reconfigured my menu and kicker buttons to point to the browsers rather than that script. I forget its name, but almost anything should point you to it, and all you will need to do is edit your preferences into it.
