Why not simply call it "mukt", which is (IMO, of course) closer to the
original meaning of "Free as in Free Speech"?

Does anyone here have any experience in trying to run the TVS MSP245
printer on Linux?
Right now, I have a choice between a Canon inkjet printer, which is
completely unsupported by Canon, and the dot-matrix TVS MSP245.
My requirements in this regard are peculiar - I would rather go for
the dot-ma

I'm looking for information on how to set up a mailing list server for
college-related work, similar to the one we're interacting with here.
It will consist of two lists:
1)An announce list, for one-way communication from the college to the
students (official announcements, things like that).
2)

A friend of mine has a machine with an Intel 1.66 GHz processor, and 128 MB
of RAM. I'm looking for a distro which will have all the basic functionality
enabled/enableable (media/office/internet/drivers/system tools).
So far, I've narrowed the selection down to Puppy Linux and Xubuntu. Does

I'd suggest you add Dev-C++, Vim, Emacs, and MinGW (with documentation and
tutorials) into that mix. All students of Computer Science in schools (and
most colleges) today are forced to use an obsolete version of Turbo-C++,
which doesn't even support the latest C++ standard, and throws weird

Could you please be a little more specific? That is,
a) What hardware do you intent to use Linux on, and
b) What type of use will the Linux machine be put?

Issue is completely resolved. Thanks to everyone.
I'm writing this mail from my brother's Ubuntu box. I configured it through
pppoeconf. Worked like a charm. I've also downloaded the usage checked
script, and it works very well.
Again, thanks to everyone.

uld I configure an ADSL connection in Ubuntu?
I'm perfectly familiar with the command-line, so I'll have no problem in
manually editing config files or in using command-line tools to get the
connection working.
Thanks in advance.
