Okay..this kind of brings up a question: I'm using Windows XP; I have Total
Recorder 7. If I change to "software"..can I then record an audio
stream..and do email (or whatever else I want on here)..and Jaws won't
interphere? Or is this a totally different thing?

Nope..you have to hook the cartridge to your computer (as you did when you
transferred the book; you highlight the file you wish to delete..and delete
it! But the players have no feature on the players that'll delete a
book..and there probably shouldn't be!

The data format you rip to is another issue. WMA lossless is one option,
but FLAC and others are possible as well. As long as you start with a
lossless format, you can convert later to anything else.

WMP works for me when it comes to ripping CDs to the hard drive; I like it
because, right out of the box, I found that it was already putting the
titles with the tracks (CDEX doesn't do it; you have to tell it) but in my
opinion, both programs work fine; it's all in what you like!
