Ann and list: Thanks; will give it a try and let you all know how it works out! MP3 Direct Cut does work well for removing parts of a file that you don't want; I even thought maybe the "control-E" thing was the key stroke I wanted, but thought I should write and see if I was correct! Thanks again!

You certainly can.

Use the B and N keys to select the beginning and end of the part you
want, then hit Control+E...I think. Anyhow, if I was wrong about the
actual keyboard shortcut, there is a Save Selection in the File menu,
and you can use this to save a part of a file to another file all of its
own.

Hello list: As the subject line indicates, I have a question concerning MP3 Direct cut: let's say I want to take a part of a file and make a new file out of it unto itself; can this be done? In other words, I may have a whole file and there's a section of the file I want to keep, but not the _whole_ file; will MP3 Direct Cut do this? Or do I have to just record the part of the file I want, using something like Total Recorder (or another recording program) thanks for your responses in advance!
