Hi all! Since we've been discussing different formats for music, such as MP3
and AAC, I went to Google to find out about advanced audio coding! It sounds
like AAC might be more akin to DVD sound, because it relies on the MPEG2
standards, similar to DVD's.
I have over 20 Bruce Springsteen songs that were burned for me. Some of
them were burned using MP3, and some using WMA. One thing I noticed is that
with the songs that were in the WMA format, it seemed like I heard more of a
dynamic range with my surround sound than I heard from the MP3 tracks
I've heard that the best way, if you want everything to be in order, the way
it was originally, you should start your first selection with 001, and so un
until you get to 010, then keep going to 100. I made the mistake of just
starting with 01, but that didn't work when I got to 100. At first,
I use CDex! I have to rip to the harddrive first, as I have only one CD
player/burner!

Roger,
I bought this program to convert .rm (Real Media) files to mp3 so that I
could hear them on my Book Port. It works fine for this purpose. I haven't
tried any other conversions. I don't see any problems with accessibility.

Does anyone know of a program which would keep a catalog of filenames with
volume labels and crcs? That way not only would one know what was one where,
but whether something recently added was already in the catalog under a
different name.

That's what I'd like to know. I used to use Real Player with no problem in
