I found it by going into Winamp Preferences with Ctrl+P, then pressing P
three times for Plug-ins, arrowing twice down to Output, Tabbing twice to
the list of plug-ins. The first one on my list is NullSoft Direct Sound
Output. Tab to and activate the Configure Button.

when a file starts, stops, and pause/restart. I would like to make it start

hi. there's actually even an easier way.
what's happening is that it's a setup screen.
make sure that the Winamp classic skin is selected, and everything else
should be fine so just click the finish button and you should be good.

Well, I found it. Apparently, alt-3 was set as a global hot key to read
Window 3. So, in the Winamp set file, I undefined that hot key, and now
my alt-3 for reading my file info is restored.
Your suggestion of using the bypass key gave me the clue to find the problem

I am not suggesting that Winamp is perfect. I have had crashes with it and
there is an issue for me using JAWS in having it not properly gaining focus
until I do a JAWS screen refresh. I have, however, looked at VLC, Windows Media
Player and other players, and none of the others appear

with a little help...I got wimamp to be my default player...However,
I want to ask it to play.wav files...that sort of thing..and not
other players.
