I strongly disagree that Winamp should just not be used because some of you
find it very accessible, as do I, while other players I've tried do not give
the info Winamp gives.
Having said that, I had tried VLC but it was awhile back and I found no
controls. While I do use Winamp, I'd be interested in trying VLC if it has
improved as far as accessibility. If someone wouldn't mind putting some of
its shortcuts on list to help those who might be hesitant to try it, I would
appreciate it.
I just don't know why Winamp has been so harshly bashed, and people do have
the right to use the player of choice. But sure if I could use another as
well, I would appreciate instructions.
I'm not sure if Real Player is accessible, but I heard it recently and loved
the sound quality. So please give us help regarding different players, and
I'm definitely keeping Winamp around in case other players are more
difficult and don't give me the track info, etc., that Winamp gives.

Hi,
Wow this is a typical statement from an unknowledge person.
VLC has much better compatibility to all kind of formats.

wrong you are, winamp is absolutely the best media player used, i use it
every single day. It's simple and straight forward. I like things to be
simple

Winamp will always be the best player for screen reader users and

better and still accessable I would conciter using it but if not I
will just keep using version 5.66 Brian Sackrider

Don’t care any more as there are so many good alternatives anyway,
the best thing that every happened in the media player world was the

the loss of this software.
If a new company has taken Winamp over and development has started
again then all well and good but I do think the player became far too
bloated is is very much over rated.

Hello listers,
Just wanted to know if any of you have used the latest version of
Winamp from Radionomy? If so, how accessible is it with screen
readers? I found out that the there is apparently only two
versions, pro and light, and the pro is around $19.00.
I might consider springing for the Pro version if I knew that it
was actually worth it, or maybe another way of putting it, if it
wouldn't break all of my presets and WE scripts/apps. I'd far
rather use the old version for as long as I can, rather than
destroying a perfectly working Winamp listening environment.
