Okay, what is the problem exactly? I've had mine repaired without problem a
couple of times, I know one place in Australia which have repaired mine for me
once and I got an electronics shop in the High Street to look at it a second
time.

Hi Barry,
I'm out of luck.
sony says that They have no parts to repaair the recorder.
My local shop here in hartford says they can't do it either.
The was a place called
porter electronics, but there's no phone mumber for them and I don't know
where they are.
The might be in england, but that's
Yep, thank you for underscoring the point I've been trying to make, any good
USB speakers - I think the one's I spoke of earlier are Bose - need that extra
power from the wall.
Having said all that though it may be that some new speaker models out there
use digital amps, that being the case the
The ones I have which are the Bose Companion 5 multi media speakers do meet
2 of the things you need. They sound really good for speakers that are kind
of small, and you only use the USB for the audio output. Sadly though you do
nead to plug them into the wall. Other then that they are pretty good.
I am the same way I believe the same thing. I have my mixer and my cd
turntables and it's all I need but from what I here a lot of places are
using that now.

Hello Listers,
I am new to this list , and am glad to be here.
My sister came to visit me some time ago and she had some Logitek speakers
for her notebook that sounded excellent! The thing that really surprised me
is, they were so small!
Now my brother took me to best buy, and other stores, and
I disagree as you've just proved my points in my opinion.
You talk of the cheap USB speakers at $20.00 being a load of junk? Well their's
no disputing that but have you heard a cheap $20.00 pair of speakers these days
that connect to a sound card or Ipod and which are powered by mains power? I
Well despite what you say, as mentioned in my message, the Rock 302G speakers
sound remarkably good for their size and I would be
happy if I could get something else that sounded as good. Most of the USB
speakers are aimed at the cheap end of the market (around
$20 or so) and all that I have h
Well in my experience with USB speakers you're not going to have all your
criteria met particularly when it comes to your third point.
USB ports from a computer only give a very small amount of power and in some
cases hardly any at all, that's why USB hubs come with power supplies to make

Please can anyone advice me of USB computer speakers which meet the following
criteria.
1. Must be powered via USB.
2. The sound source must be via USB, that is, not a separate lead into the
audio output jack of the computer.
3. The sound quality must be good with a reasonable amount of base.
That's probably your best bet, the only other alternative I can think of is a
small Street repairer but they're very hard to come by these days at least in
Australia and very sadly missed.
