Yep, thank you for underscoring the point I've been trying to make, any good 
USB speakers - I think the one's I spoke of earlier are Bose - need that extra 
power from the wall.

Having said all that though it may be that some new speaker models out there 
use digital amps, that being the case then USB power may suffice but I'd 
imagine they'd be quite expensive.
