Perhaps changing the bit rate of the recording might help, although I have
to admit that I am not an expert in the area of digital recording. The only
other thing that I can thinkof is the compatibility of analogue to digital.

This is especially the case when I play MP3 files after I've converted them
from WMA lossless.
The WMA lossless files sound ok, but the real ear sore is those MP3 files.
