Perhaps changing the bit rate of the recording might help, although I have
to admit that I am not an expert in the area of digital recording. The only
other thing that I can thinkof is the compatibility of analogue to digital.
There may be some conflict with your card and the tube amplifier. My mP3
files sound fine on my player, but have a lot to be desired when played on a
high end system. It has a lot to do with compressing those files. At the end
of the day one ends up having to make some sacrifices when it comes to the
quality of the audio. My player has a built in equalizer that is good enough
to mask the poor recording of some audio files. . .

High Bob,
I have already done that, but the problem is still with me.
This is especially the case when I play MP3 files after I've converted
them from WMA lossless.
The WMA lossless files sound ok, but the real ear sore is those MP3 files.
I only do this to put the MP3 files on my MP3 player.
But is there a way to make those sound any better then they do while I'm
checking them out?
Thinks in advance!
John.

Try lowering the output of your soundcard, and see what that does when
the tube amplifier picks up thedigital signal generated by the soundcard.

Hello,
Does anyone know about a sound card that uses vacuum tubes?
I have a speaker system that uses a pare of vacuum tube amplifiers
hooked up to my computer.
But the quality falls apart at my sound card.
I'm just wanting to get better sound out of my computer's sound system.
Thinks and advance!
John.

You my want to check out www.auzentech.com.
They have an auzentech x-fi 7.1 prelude card that is designed around
the creative chip, but with some editions. I haven't tried this card
personally, but I plan to very soon. I have heard great things about it
though.

Subject: Sound Card Recommendations
I've been using the Audio file card by M-Audio in one of my computers.
No
real issues with it but I was wondering about recommendations from you
guys
who are experts with this stuff.
I am about to set up aa new PC for sound recording\editing and was
wondering
about what the latest and greatest is in this high end sound card
area. And
which ones have accessible interfaces in their software?
I use Jaws 10 and Sound forge 6 at the moment but may upgrade that
soon. I
don't have a real need for the multiple input that the M-Audio cards
provide
in their other models, but it might be useful to know about for the
future.
